From 7 to 11 September 2021, the largest international exhibition of commercial vehicles COMTRANS took place in Moscow, Crocus Expo IEC. The exhibition was attended by 141 companies from 9 countries of the world. The largest automakers presented at their stands new models of trucks and light commercial vehicles, buses and trailers, and special equipment. The main attention of automakers this year was paid to the topic of switching to alternative fuel sources: electricity, gas and hydrogen.

The ceremonial beginning of the exhibition was the awarding ceremony for the winners of the competition "Grand Prix" Behind the Wheel - Commercial Vehicles ", established by the editorial offices of the magazines" Za Rulem "and" Reis ". 35 novelties of equipment that entered the Russian market from 01.06 were submitted to the competition. 2020 to 30.06. 2021 A professional jury consisting of representatives of large trucking companies, trade and repair companies has identified the 7 best models of the cargo industry in 7 nominations.

Within the framework of the outdoor exposition, the company presented a KAMAZ-5490 truck tractor operating on compressed natural gas, coupled with a curtainsider semi-trailer NEFAZ-93348, as well as a 58146W concrete mixer truck on a KAMAZ gas-cylinder chassis. KAMAZ-65805 (Atlant 60), KAMAZ-65807 (Atlant 65) and KAMAZ-6561 (Hercules) were demonstrated in the area of ​​mining dump trucks. In addition, together with partner companies, a number of special equipment on the KAMAZ chassis was presented. The prototype "Continent - KAMAZ" of the K6 generation, fully digitized and equipped with a solar-powered semi-trailer, became a demonstration site for all 5 days of the event.

The impressive exposition of the GAZ Group consisted of 15 models of new generation cars and buses, over 100 new design solutions: electric cars and water buses, cars with intelligent digital services, luxury buses for passengers with limited mobility, transport with air disinfection systems for additional health protection during an epidemic, trucks with automatic transmission and ADAS systems.

The President of GAZ Group Vadim Nikolaevich Sorokin presented a prototype of a "water bus" - an electric bus powered by hydrogen cells. The development is presented in two modifications - a large CITYMAX HYDROGEN and a "GAZelle City" minibus. Also, two models of electric transport were presented: a large-class electric bus E-CITYMAX 12 and a light commercial truck "GAZelle e-NN". Also among the novelties of the GAZ Group were city buses of the new generation CITYMAX: middle class buses - CITYMAX 9 with a diesel engine of the ecological standard "Euro-6" and electric E-CITYMAX 12.

MAZ at its stand presented the latest models of cargo, dump, special and passenger vehicles, and the central place of the exposition was occupied by a powerful sports truck, which at the end of July returned from the Silk Way Rally Raid with a silver award. Among the new products MAZ showed:

ISUZU, together with partners from Arctic Trucks, presented at the stand the long-awaited version of the ISUZU D-Max AT35 2021 pickup truck with improved cross-country characteristics compared to the base models. The new ISUZU ELF 8.0 low-tonnage chassis with a 4x4 wheel arrangement was also presented at the stand. In the line of construction equipment ISUZU RUS together with the plant for the manufacture of special equipment TPK "Phoenix" presented a three-axle dump truck based on ISUZU GIGA 6 × 4 with rear unloading. Another presented three-axle modification - the ISUZU FVR 21T chassis - is a modified ISUZU FORWARD FVR34 truck. In the line of passenger transport ISUZU, together with partners from the SIMAZ company, an extended version of the SIMAZ intercity bus was presented.

The URAL automobile plant presented at its stand four models of the new cabover-free Ural family of road vehicles. This is, first of all, the flagship of the family - "Ural S35510": a 6x4 dump truck with a gross weight of up to 35 tons and a carrying capacity of up to 21.5 tons, designed for the transportation of bulk and bulk cargo. For the first time, the automobile plant presented the Ural S34520 dump truck with a gross weight of 27.5 tons and a carrying capacity of up to 16 tons. Another novelty of the enterprise is the Ural S35410 truck tractor for construction and technological transportation over short and medium distances. The partner of the car plant - the company "Mercator" at the stand demonstrated a sample of a communal road vehicle on a new chassis. The car is equipped with modern, reliable and functional attachments of European quality.

The German concern Schmitz Cargobull Russland, under the motto 100% CONNECTED, presented to the attention of Russian companies a modern and highly efficient refrigerated semi-trailer S.KO COOL SMART EXECUTIVE with an electronic temperature recorder and complete with an S.CU Schmitz Cargobull refrigeration unit.

The issues of ecology and environmental protection in the country are one of the serious directions in the search for alternative fuels for car factories. And, judging by the exhibits presented at the stands of automakers, we can conclude that the domestic auto industry has taken a real course towards a speedy transition to alternative fuels: electricity, gas and hydrogen.

These and other relevant topics were raised in a large-scale business program, which took place at the specially equipped COMTRANS Arena for 4 days. The speakers of the program were more than 70 leading experts of the automotive and transport industries - heads of manufacturing companies, representatives of the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Transport of Russia, the Moscow Government, as well as specialists from other government organizations, analytical companies and professional associations. More than 615 fleet operators, dealers of vehicles and spare parts, representatives of car service organizations and drivers of commercial vehicles attended the events of the business program. Within the framework of business events, the most relevant and exciting topics were raised, affecting the state of the automotive industry as a whole and its individual segments.
