NIIKPU experts took part in the jubilee, 20th international exhibition "Neftegaz-2021", held on 26-29.04.2021 in the Central Exhibition Complex "EXPOCENTRE".

EXPOCENTRE AO and the exhibition company Messe Dusseldorf GmbH (Germany) organized an exhibition with the support of the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, specialized unions, under the patronage of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation.

Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Mikhail Ivanov, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Expocentre JSC Sergey Katyrin, Assistant to the Head of the Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation Kirill Molodtsov, Deputy Head of the Federal Agency for Subsoil Use Orest Kasparov, President of the Union of Oil and Gas Producers of Russia Gennady Shmal, President of the Russian Union of Chemists Viktor Ivanov, General Director of Messe Dusseldorf Moscow LLC Mr. Thomas Shtenzel, Acting General Director of EXPOCENTR AO Alexey Vyalkin.

The honored guests noted the importance of the event for demonstrating innovative solutions, stressed their interest in discussing the best ways to solve the priority tasks of the oil and gas industry and fruitful cooperation.

One of the main events of the business program of the Neftegaz-2021 exhibition was the National Oil and Gas Forum (NSF). The forum took place on April 27-28.

The forum was organized by the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation jointly with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Russia, the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, the Union of Oil and Gas Producers of Russia, and the Russian Gas Society.

The strategic session of the Forum was moderated by Grigory Vygon, Managing Director of Vygon Consulting. He stressed that the climate agenda is gaining momentum and was the first to invite Yaranda Rystad, the head of Rystad Energy, to give an overview of the current state of energy markets and new technology trends. Yarand Rystad noted a decrease in the consumption of petroleum products in the aviation industry. So, in the context of daily flights, international flights decreased by 85%, domestic by 60%. “Thanks to Russia, India, China and America, which are doing everything possible to gradually increase the number of domestic flights,” the speaker said.

The session was continued by David Campbell, President of BP Russia. He focused on the balance of energy resources and the development of new technologies.

Pavel Sorokin, Deputy Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation, spoke about the transformation of ecosystems and dwelled on issues related to hydrogen. “Great hope is connected with the use of hydrogen in energy. Now a new concept for the development of hydrogen energy is being prepared, ”he said.

The session participants got acquainted with the presentation of the Vice President for Strategic Development of PJSC Lukoil Leonid Fedun with great interest. In particular, he spoke about three possible scenarios for the development of the oil industry: evolution, equilibrium and transformation. “For example, under the“ evolution ”scenario, by 2025 the world will already have 7% of electric vehicles in sales, and by 2030, 17%, which in natural numbers is close to 200 million,” the speaker said. In his opinion, the tendency to decarbonize the world economy reduces the need to develop expensive oil reserves. “If an energy company is going to survive, it must integrate into new realities and live in them,” says Leonid Fedun.

Forecasts for the development of energy markets, changes in the global energy landscape, energy transition and other issues were discussed at the session, as well as at other events within the framework of the National Oil and Gas Forum.
