03.02.2021 NIIKPU signed a cooperation agreement with the Corporation for the Development of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic. This agreement implies the development of cooperation in the implementation of infrastructure projects for the economic and social development of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic.

Let us recall that the parties already have experience of joint work, in particular, in terms of structuring a transport concession project in the Republic.

The Kabardino-Balkarian Republic is one of 85 constituent entities of the Russian Federation, located on the northern slopes of the central part of the Main Caucasian ridge with the adjacent plain and occupies an area of ​​12.5 thousand square meters. km. Convenient geographical location in the center of the North Caucasus, at the intersections of the main transport routes in the south of Russia, is used by all economic entities. The Kabardino-Balkarian Republic is a constituent part of the North Caucasian Federal District of the Russian Federation. The republic borders on Georgia, the Karachay-Cherkess Republic, the Stavropol Territory and the Republic of North Ossetia Alania.

According to the results of the National rating (the national rating evaluates the efforts of regional authorities to create favorable conditions for doing business and identifies the best practices, and its results stimulate competition in the struggle for investment at the regional level) in 2019, the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic improved its position, taking 42nd place among subjects of the Russian Federation.

In the Republic there is an active growth of indicators in the industrial sector, agriculture, construction. Also in 2020, the Republic entered the list of regions with the largest budget surplus.

In general, the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic is characterized by a steady growth in the volume of investments in fixed assets, which is associated with the dynamic development of most sectors of the regional economy.

On the territory of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic, more than 50 investment projects are being implemented or planned to be implemented in various sectors of the economy: chemical industry, food industry, energy, transport and communications, agriculture, tourism, medicine, light industry.

One of the main tasks of the investment policy today is the development of a strategy aimed at increasing the investment attractiveness of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic, creating conditions for mobilizing internal and increasing the flow of external investment resources and new technologies into the economy of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic, expanding sources of investment for business and projects initiated by the authorities of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic, increasing the efficiency of investments, developing regional infrastructure using public-private partnership mechanisms.
