At the end of October 2020. NIIKPU signed an agreement with PJSC Gazprom, which will allow expanding interaction both within the framework of projects already being implemented and building cooperation on promising topics.

At the moment, the NIIKPU project portfolio includes a number of pre-investment studies and expert and analytical works for the needs of PJSC Gazprom and its subsidiaries, work is underway to develop the gas engine fuel market and gas transportation infrastructure in the Russian Federation using a public-private partnership mechanism (PPP), project financing and attracting long-term investments in capital-intensive infrastructure projects, including those related to the promising topic of liquefied natural gas (LNG).

Among the projects already implemented by the Institute are the development of feasibility studies for the implementation of project complexes for the production and marketing infrastructure of LNG in a number of regions of the Russian Federation, the development of information and analytical materials for the use of LNG in the drilling segments, as well as in the segments of railway and water transport, the development of proposals for the development / harmonization regulatory documents of the Russian Federation and documentation of PJSC Gazprom's standardization systems in the field of bunkering of LNG vessels with foreign regulatory legal acts, as well as development of templates for financial and economic models, marketing research for projects, etc.

Based on the accumulated experience, an active study of new initiatives for the development of small and medium-sized LNG production and marketing is underway in accordance with the tasks set by the President of the Russian Federation V.V. Putin, to increase the share of LNG in the energy balance of the regions, in particular, the Arctic territories and the Far East.

The signed agreement will expand cooperation between the Institute and PJSC Gazprom, including in structuring and implementing investment and infrastructure projects of the Gazprom Group using project financing mechanisms, leasing, PPP and concessions.
