In December 2019, the next book of the series “Practice of Corporate and Project Management” was released - “Management of the development of the company: innovation, strategy, motivation. Practical recommendations. "

A unique feature of this publication is that in one place the main practical recommendations on the development management of the company are collected, which is associated with the strategy, innovations, the correct organizational structure and motivation of top management and employees. The recommendations can be used both at the level of the board of directors and at the level of executive management in private and state joint-stock companies operating in Russia. A number of methodological recommendations included in this volume was approved by the Federal Property Management Agency for use by joint-stock companies with state participation.

Like the first two volumes of the series, the book contains recommendations and methodological materials for practical use by heads of companies of different levels and scale of business, both private and public. The purpose of the recommendations is to help build a company’s development management system, including innovative development, which, in the context of digitalization, becomes a critical factor in business success. The book contains a systematic set of recommendations from different years of independent experts and documents of the Federal Property Management Agency, developed with the participation of members of the Expert Advisory Council at the Federal Property Management Agency, coordinated by Victoria Semerikova, then Head of the Department of Corporate Technologies of the Federal Property Management Agency. The experts of the Federal Property Management Agency prepared documents on long-term development programs, guidelines for the use of key performance indicators, guidelines for the development of dividend policies, guidelines for the development and adjustment of innovative development programs.

It should be noted that the rapid progress of digital technologies and the changing consumer preferences associated with the use of digital technologies have led to the need to seriously reconsider the approach of managers and members of board of directors of companies to business transformation, responding to emerging challenges. Digital transformation is not seen as another technical tool, but as a way to change business in the new environment. Whoever does not reorganize the business on digital footing risks losing it in the very near future. Therefore, an important part of this publication is devoted to recommendations for managing innovative development and digital transformation, prepared by specialists of the Research Institute of Corporate and Project Management, independent experts and experts of the Ministry of Economic Development.

Management of business development is largely determined by organizational development models, motivation of top management and employees. These issues are addressed by recommendations for building a “smart company” as the basis for implementing a strategy, introducing innovations and motivating employees. The practical implementation of the motivation of the company's managers is addressed in the Recommendations on the organization of the work of the committee of the board of directors for personnel and remuneration, the main principles of which were presented for discussion in 2015 and received support from the subcommittee on corporate governance of the Expert Advisory Council of the Federal Property Management Agency. The principles of this document were also discussed at the round table of the OECD and the Moscow Exchange.

In general, the authors believe that the set of recommendations presented in this book will serve as a good basis for building a management system for the development of any business, regardless of its size, legal form and ownership structure.
